Who would have thought ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ would spark business ideas?

"What do you need to start a business? Three simple things: know your product better than anyone, know your customer, and have a burning desire to succeed."

In 2014, the Government of India initiated the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’. Fast forward 4 years – Subodh Kar and Saravanan V.A – cohorts of the Executive MBA at the Institute of Product Leadership,  have designed a business model called ‘mPower’ to make a greener and cleaner India. They plan to generate electricity for the common areas in big apartments by utilising the wet waste and in the process, optimise waste management. Their start-up pitch was selected as the best idea and won a cash prize from the elite jury of 15+ members. Such business models are the need of the hour and are a holistic boost for the ‘Make In India’ and ‘Skill India’ initiative. Innovative solutions for real world problems is at the heart of IPL’s ‘Skillathon’ initiative, which is a unique combination of new age skills put to the test in a Hackathon. This motto was actualised at the 3rd skillathon of the season, conducted at the IPL Whitefield Campus, Bangalore on 17th March, in front of a live jury, which consisted of alumni members and industry experts.
The jury members were – AnkurAnilGautam , VivekManjunath , Rakesh  ,Hemanth Sankla , Paras , Ravichandran , Vivek , Adityaa garg Pradeep kumar , Anand Raghavan , Manoj , Aditya Shankar
