Amit Somani

Amit Somani is currently a Managing Partner at Prime Venture Partners, an early-stage VC firm based out of Bangalore. Prime is currently investing out of its 3rd fund of US $70M (INR 500Cr) and is focused on investing in disruptive product companies out of India, with a particular focus on Fintech & SaaS. PVP addresses a much-needed gap in the Indian startup ecosystem – by bringing a combination of first-hand entrepreneurial experience, operating expertise and meaningful capital.Amit brings over 25 years’ of global experience in technology and internet industries. He’s held Product and Tech Leadership roles at Google, Makemytrip and IBM including over a dozen years at Silicon Valley. As the Chief Products Officer for MakeMyTrip, Amit led the entire online product portfolio and was a part of the leadership team that took the company public on NASDAQ in 2010. Prior, one of the Ads products Amit led at Google went on to win the Founders Award. Amit has also been named LinkedIn India TopVoices in 2018 and 2019. Amit holds a B.S Computer Science (Gold medalist) from Indian Institute of Technology Varanasi and a Masters in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Amit loves to travel around the world, is a sports enthusiast, enjoys reading and is a fusion chef!
